Realy Ridiculously Random Rantings

Awesome i am back on my PC! Still a bit dodgee and have to install many many things but im getting there!
Soon i will reinstall my photoshop and cinema 4D and i can start designing stuff again, woohoo!

For now im keeping myself to installing drivers and AION. propably tomorrow some tweaking and double checking if i can do everything i want…

After that i can start uploading my collected images and such. Of which i ofcourse will do some nice reports on aswell.

But main priority is getting my LBB back on, sadly i missed the chance for a 15 day Fallen Earth trail but atleast i can still play AION!

Well its about done installing so im gonna go over and patch and such!

Well i guess i found my next useless thing i absolutly have to get..

I doubt it will be this year but if not i might aswell get it for my birthday next year!

Alright i got bored and decided to share some of my music taste, behold, Benjamin Bates – Forever Running.

There are pretty much 3 reasons why I’m sharing this clip with you. The main reason being i cant find the song so this is all i have of it, the others mostly revolve around this being one of my most favorite clips/song ever.

That and it sounds realy sweet on my new headphones!

Well i often start something and then just let it rot away after the initial interest burst has faded but this last week was really just plain boring..

I discovered my Mainboard and PSU (Power Supply Unit) weren’t the only broken parts for my PC, i had to get a new CPU as well. Together with that i ordered some new headphones and some fans which look pretty awesome but since my CPU still has to arrive its all useless..

Ill take some pics of the rig once it works again.

Other then that there are no PS3 that is grabbing my interest, the LBB is doing what its always doing and i cant be there so thats rather lame..

I don’t even have music on this laptop so im stuck with whatever i can find on youtube..

At least the headphones are realy awesome!

Well it doesn’t happen often but sometimes weird emails are received, but this has got to be by far the weirdest i have received up to now.

Well it was a short lived idea but i can pretty much say the XBox idea is gone.. I have spent the last 2 days trying to figure out how to fix my PC and to my amazement i found the solution! I can actually afford to fix it so i might as well so i can continue my addiction of MMO`s and even try out Fallen Earth!

It also started me day dreaming again about my future “ultimate” PC. So i spend most if the daytime in online stores atm looking, configuring and comparing parts. Combined with my recent job soliciting my spirits are definitely lifted!

More news should be around next week.

Well after a smashing week of gaming I’m starting to wonder why i actually bought a PS3 and not an Xbox. Not even to mention the Wii… I’m starting to wonder that maybe instead of fixing my PC i will buy an Xbox 360 Elite first.

If i choose to repair my PC first, ill just jump on that again and never think about the Xbox again so its probably better to get that first.

Yoot Tower, aka Sim Tower 2 made in 1998.

With my lack of a proper gaming PC i have started my quest to fins old (low spec) games that this bloody laptop can handle. First i tried a couple of pretty recent games like Dwarf Fortress but without a decent CPU its impossible to play. Combined with the fact the windows installer on this laptop is broken i cant even install everything i can find (including the video driver) so I’m stuck with really old stuff. Things like Open Transport Tycoon Delux.

About a week ago another old game popped in my head when i saw Simcity 2000 on the PSN shop which reminded me of Simtower.

With it being abandon ware i decided to give it a shot since its a DOS game… why wouldn’t i be able to play that? Apparently DOS games require the windows installer still so again that failed horribly! *curses windows*

Then Wikipedia brightened my day telling me there is (sort of) a sequel to the game, Yoot Tower, the same mechanics and graphics just more stuff and definitely more fun! It has even relit my game making desires and I’m actually planning to base a browser game on Yoot Tower. (don’t expect too much i haven’t finished any game i started working on….)

With Yoot Tower being abandonware aswell now i should realy recommend it to old Simtower players, or any curious players that wanna make a 2D skyscraper.

A while ago i saw an episode of Mythbusters and it made me thing about how/why things float. In particular things floating on air compared to water.

For things to float in air it would have to be the same or lower weight then the surrounding air. This is why helium balloons seem to float, because helium is lighter then air. Which made me wonder what the lightest material is and what would give the most lift.

Then a switch went off in my head, what can be lighter then “nothing”? Why not use a vacuum?

The most obvious answer would probably be that there is nothing strong enough AND light enough to have any possibility to float, since a vacuum pretty must has the weight of the entire atmosphere on it so the container of the vacuum needs to be pretty strong.

On the other side if we theoretically can fill a balloon with a vacuum would it float? Its pretty simple to say it would way less then a balloon filled with air. But at the same time there is no force driving it up.

I’m pretty confused about this one and hope to get an answer in my lifetime! It would be pretty darn interesting to see a balloon filled with vacuum, that would make for some awesome implosions as well!

Well my PC is pretty much broken, this means i wont be posting funny images or (de)motivators anytime soon i’m afraid.

Just gonna be me whining about things for a while.

The problem with my PC is propably my motherboard, it just doesnt respond anymore when i press the on button. I took my girlfriends PC and swapped a few things, my RAM to hers and her power supply on mine, nothing worked.
I didn’t swap HDD or Video card since even if that was broken my PC should still boot into Bios then. And in case it is all my power supply im not gonna risk putting that one in my girlfriends PC. So ill be without PC until i can get a new motherboard, processor and power supply.
